Sarah Sauvey is a 26-year-old Ski-Cross athlete, who is competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

She started skiing at the tender age of three and nine years later she was training properly before starting to compete at international level when she was just 15.

After growing up in Australia, Sarah was State and National Junior Champion in both Slalom and Giant Slalom by the age of 17 and in 2003 she became the National Open Slalom Champion as well.

She decided to make the switch to the freestyle sport ski cross in 2005 after competing at the World University Games in Innsbruck in the event and absolutely loving it.

After undergoing open vascular surgery in May 2006, Sarah was out of action for 12 months but on her return she qualified for the 2007 World Freestyle Skiing Championships in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy and she also represented Australia at the World Championships.

Despite growing up in Australia both of Sarah's parents are English and she made the switch in November 2007 when she joined the British National Ski Cross Team. She still holds dual passports and resides for six months of the year in Melbourne where she is studying for a university degree.
