Marlon Beresford started his goalkeeping career at Sheffield Wednesday, as a trainee, before signing for Burnley, where he made 240 appearances at Turf Moor.

A four-year stint at Middlesbrough followed and then it was onto York City for the Lincoln born stopper before a return to Burnley where he made a further 34 appearances.

Bradford where next in line to snap up Marlon and after a handful of starts he decided to join Luton Town where he made a dozen of appearances before heading back up to Yorkshire to sign for Barnsley.

The Hatters became Marlon's final club for four seasons as he racked up another 105 appearances for the Kenilworth Road outfit before hanging up his gloves.

Marlon has had a change of career path since retiring from the game and has recently set-up academies in Belfast and Malta for training students to pass their Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and also the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) examinations.

He has also kept in touch with his football routes by helping out with match day commentary for Burnley games in the Premier League this season and you can keep up to date with him via his regular blogs.
