KATE DENNISON: READY FOR THE SEASON

Click here to see all my posts

Apologies for the delay guys, I have now been back from LA for two weeks and settled back into UK life. I must say I’m enjoying the UK sunshine almost as much as the LA sunshine.

The four week camp went really well. We were based out of Soka University, which is near Laguna Beach. It was a brilliant facility that catered for us all, so thanks very much Aviva and UKA.

Training went well and I was also lucky enough to see some of LA too. I had great fun messing around on Venice beach, which also has a well known spot called muscle beach, so I thought it was only fair to have a play. Check out my Facebook page for the video.

I was also lucky enough to go and watch a Lakers basketball game, which was also great fun, seen as they won.

I rounded off the camp for a competition from 12 strides and jumped 4.32m which I was quite happy with for that time of year.

I have been training hard since I have been back and plan to kick off my summer season at the Loughborough international in May. As soon as I finalise the rest of my meets I will post them here.

Until next time

KATE DENNISON: A CHRISTMAS OF WORK AND PLAY

Click here to see all my posts

Hey guys, so winter training is well and truly underway.

Nearly 7 weeks done, with my new coach Scott Simpson. Things are going well.

I am looking forward to spending Christmas in the sun in South Africa with my family, and then straight on to Stellenbosch for the UKA training camp, to do some final preparations for the indoor season.

I do plan to do some indoors but not so much this year, due to the Commonwealth’s being so late in October, and not having had chance to fit in as much training.

As soon as I know exactly which meets I will compete in, I’ll let you all know.

Here’s wishing you a very merry Christmas and a fantastic new year.

KATE DENNISON: WHAT AN EXPERIENCE

Click here to see all my posts

So I’m back from Delhi with a bronze medal.

Really happy to come back with my first medal and hoping it is the first of many. India was amazing country, and I had no experience of anything that was bad in the press.

The village and the track were spot on, and security was pretty tight too. I will post some pictures on my Facebook page so you can see for yourself.

I also managed to fit in a trip to the Taj Mahal. Being one of the seven wonders of the world I thought this was a must, and it didn’t fail to disappoint.

The whole games was an amazing experience and so glad I went. Team England did so well, and I am very proud to be part of a successful team.

Right now I’m enjoying a two week break, where I’ve been getting time to catch up with friends and family. But I start back winter training on the 1st November, which believe it or not, I’m already looking forward to.

So until next guys, keep smiling.

KATE DENNISON: THE ROLLERCOASTER

Click here to see all my posts

Hey guys – I hope you are enjoying the new website – if you have any ideas or requests please let me know through facebook or twitter, and I’ll see if I can add some more features.

So it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride this summer!

The highlight being an outdoor season’s best of 4.55 metres and a 6th place finish in the European champs.

I was gutted not to get the 4.65 at Barcelona, (which was also the height that got the silver and bronze medal), I was sooooo close and I know it’s there for the taking.

The women’s pole vault was definitely a world class event at the Europeans, with the medals being won at the same height as the world championships last year in Berlin.

However the season is yet to end and the Commonwealth Games take place at the beginning of October and my preparations are well underway.

I am really looking forward to it and can’t wait to get out there.

The qualifying and final take place on the 10th and 12th October in Delhi, and so I guess you will hear from me when I get back.
