I have returned from what I would say was a fun, challenging experience at the World Championships in Korea.
Alas it did not go as well I would have liked. I missed out on the finals by two metres. I was incredibly frustrated by my performance however I came away knowing that I could beat any of these athletes and more importantly learn from the mistakes I made. I gained invaluable experience from the trip. Some of which I will apply to my winter.
When we returned back to the UK, I pretty much chilled with my wife and unpacked. The following day I was back to work. I needed to get back into routine as quickly as possible so that I could tidy up loose ends before I go on holiday.
I now have a three week break before my preparation for my Olympic journey begins.
Despite being anxious about the prospect of the painful winter ahead, I’m excited about the potential rewards in 2012.
Until next time…
